Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummings is the second highest ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, the congressional body in charge of seeking answers regarding the IRS scandal of targeting of Tea Party and other conservative groups. He has also been accused by committee chairman Republican Rep. Darrell Issa of‘being an obstacle to Congressional oversight’ in the search for answers. Throughout the proceedings, Cummings’ actions have been more like someone trying to provide cover for IRS official Lois Lerner and blocking the quest for truth at all costs.
