Interesting quotes from Reagan and Obama
Let’s compare two quotes from significant presidential speeches in recent times:
“There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Ronald Reagan, Farewell Address (1989)
“[P]reserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action.”
Barack Obama, Second Inaugural Address (2013)

COULD THIS SCANDAL BRING OBAMA DOWN?
It’s even worse than we previously thought. A retired four-star admiral is now claiming that Barack Obama intentionally conspired with America’s enemies to stage a bogus attack and the kidnapping of an American ambassador so he could “negotiate” the release of a “hostage” and bolster his mediocre approval ratings just prior to the election!
The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: “the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi… was the result of a bungled abduction attempt…. the first stage of an international prisoner exchange… that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the ‘Blind Sheik’…”
But something went horribly wrong with Obama’s “October Surprise.” Although the Obama Administration intentionally gutted security at the consulate prior to the staged kidnapping, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed direct orders to stand down, saved American lives, single-handedly killed scores of attackers…and the attackers, believing that Obama had betrayed them, tortured Ambassador Chris Stevens and dragged his body through the streets.
Some will say that Admiral Lyons’ accusation is not a smoking gun. We agree; that’s exactly why Congress must investigate Benghazi-gate.
Moreover, we firmly believe the problem with Admiral Lyons’ assertion is that he is only scratching the surface; the full and complete truth may be much, much worse.
Benghazi-gate is not about a bogus YouTube video series of lies. It’s not about the Obama Administration’s foreign policy ineptitude. We are dealing with something much more sinister… something potentially treasonous… and the following questions, posed in an article in The New American, go to the heart of the matter:

BREAKING NEWS: ATTEMPTED GUN BURGLARY TIED TO JOURNAL NEWS GUN MAPS
Brewster, N.Y. – 1/13/2013 – Today Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) announced that a burglary has been reported on Davis Ave. in White Plains, New York that evidently ties into The Journal News gun maps. It is reported that the burglar used The Journal News’ interactive gun map to target a home included on the map. Luckily the gun was locked up and no one was hurt.
“The Journal News has placed the lives of these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut jobs. If the connection is proven, this is further proof that these maps are not only an invasion of privacy but that they present a clear and present danger to law-abiding, private citizens. Former convicts have already testified to the usefulness of the asinine Journal News ‘gun maps’ yet the reckless editors are evidently willing to roll the dice, gambling with the lives of innocent local homeowners,” said Senator Greg Ball.
RFK JR: SECOND GUNMAN INVOLVED IN JFK ASSASSINATION
There have always been those who doubted the Warren Commission’s conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the JFK assassination. Now, they have an interesting ally: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Because 2013 is the fiftieth anniversary of Kennedy’s murder, events commemorating it have been scheduled. At one event in Dallas Friday night, RFK Jr. said that he thought a second gunman was part of the assassination. Kennedy said that his own father, Robert Kennedy, who had served his brother as Attorney General and prosecuted members of organized crime, called the Warren Commission’s report “a shoddy piece of craftsmanship.” Kennedy asserted that his father may have felt guilty because of the possibility that organized crime killed his brother out of revenge, saying of him, “I think that’s true. He talked about that. He publicly supported the Warren Commission report but privately he was dismissive of it.”
After JFK was killed, there was a concerted effort by the Left and its allies in the press (notably James Reston) to perpetuate the idea that the assassination was the fault of the right-wing, which hated JFK. This conveniently ignored the fact that Oswald had defected to Soviet Russia and made an attempt to enter Cuba.
Now that RFK Jr. is implying there was a cover-up by the Johnson Administration, we’ll see how far the Democrat Party goes into investigating its own.

Americans feel austerity's bite as payroll taxes rise
Americans are beginning to feel the pinch from Washington's decision to embrace austerity measures aimed at bringing down the nation's budget deficit. Paychecks across the country have shrunk over the last week due to higher federal tax rates, and workers are already cutting back on spending, which will drag on the economy this year. In Warren, Rhode Island, Ben DeCastro got his first paycheck on Friday in which taxes on his wages rose by 2 percentage points. That works out to about $30 a week. "You sit back and do the calculation, and that's $30 I'm not going to spend at a restaurant," ... (full story)
